They are the same GPS Receive - GM-210 & same interface - USB.
GM-210 universal GPS(Bundle with USB Cable for PC) can add-in other GM-210 connector cable for Dell, Sony, Palm,
Toshiba, Hp ... PDAs, but GM-210 USB can not.
If the GPS green light is blinking, that means the GPS is working and receiving the signal.
For Pocket PC or Palm PDA, you don’t need to install any driver for them. What you do is plug the connector of GM-
210/GR-212/GR-213 cable to the bottom of your PDA, and the GPS signal will transfer to your PDA directly. The
exceptions are Toshiba e330/e740, you will need to install the driver on the CD or download the latest version from
our website.
For Laptop or notebook, you don’t need to install driver if you are using GM-210/GR212/GR-213 with DB9 (RS-232)
connector. However, you do need to install the driver on the CD or our website if you are using GM-210 with USB
connector.

Actually, Y cable is only for PDA device, Y cable cannot communicate with PC even though Y cable has USB connector.
If you want to connect GM-210/GR-212/GR-213 to PC, you have to buy the specific USB cable from us.
First, you have to install a testing software such as our GPSViewer or other navigation software, and then it will receive
GPS signal to fix your current position.
There is no specific software that is required to use GM-210/GR-212/GR-213. They work very well with any navigation
software which can accept NMEA0183 output.

Please make sure you place GPS outdoor without any obstruction as the fact that GPS cannot fix position indoor.
Please note that GPS cannot fix position in dashboard either if your window is tinted as the tinted window will block the

1. Install GPSViewer to your device (Please load it from our website)
2. Select correct com port & designate the baud rate at 4800.
3. Open GPS & press “Cold start”
Sometime GPS have to be executed the “cold start” function to re-acquire satellites if GPS was not used either for long
distance or over long period of time.
Please note that GPS reception might be low if your car window id tinted.
You can directly place GM-210/GR-212/GR-213 on the car roof by magnet since they are waterproof.
A. Yes, it is the same cable as X3/X3i, please just up-side-down the cable’s connector to plug into X30. It will work.
A. No, iPaq1900 series can not communicate with other peripherals since they are slave to slave. They are not
supported by GM-210. It is advised to go for GR-231/ GPSlim236 blue tooth GPS.
The driver might not be installed properly, please do the following steps for evaluation:
1. Un-install and re-install the USB driver again.
2. Connect GM-210/GR-212/GR-213 and your laptop
3. Go to My computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager > COM & LPT to see if you can see
GM-210/GR-212/GR-213 on the list.
If you are not sure which com port is GM-210/GR-212/GR-213, you can unplug and plug again to find out the correct port.

Actually, we have the USB driver for not only windows system, but also MAC & LINUX system.
Step-by-step instruction to enable WAAS/EGNOS:
1. Open GPS Viewer.
2. Scan com port of GM-210 and find correct com port.
3. Press "Open GPS" and you can see NMEA string output.
4. Check “WAAS/EGNOS” function to enable it.
